A post that considers both the T-4 and T-3 days.
Yesterday, a day mostly dedicated to the family, with a final shopping points in the way (some snacks to carry during the day and caffeine drinks for the driving ). As I will have a very active next days, I will do all the packing today. I don’t want to stay up late on the days before driving as it adds unnecessary risk to the mix.
Regarding research, a lot has been going on. As Luis Afonso well mentioned, we shouldn’t plan the images as we certainly won’t find the same conditions and/or places that were in action by the time the available images were taken. I use this research process more in the line of creating an inspirational path. By knowing which images already exist, I start to grasp the feeling of what type of images are possible and also, I’ll run away from copying them.
My goals are complete at this point:
- Have everything packed in advance to avoid a stressful evening prior to departure.
- Be comfortable with the location of the technical articles as my backpack suffered a complete reshufle
- Have a list of the last items that will be added just before departure:
- films
- drinks
- keys, documents, etc
- Have a good understanding of what has been photographed in the area to help me create a mood and structure to my own process
regarding this post series, I’m planning to put out a new post prior to departure and from then, I will move to a facebook/tweeter format. Will update whenever possible, which will only happen during the breaks. We’ll see how it goes with another series of posts about the trip itself
